The goals should be specific, realistic, achievable, ambitious and time limited. Rehabilitation goal is an intended future state and contains the consequence of actions that must be undertaken for the goal to be achieved. The patient must be actively involved in goal setting process and his needs must be acknowledged, thus the motivation in function improvement is enhanced. In the goal-setting process for patients with degeneratve musculoskeletal disorders and in elderly particular care must be taken in order not to set exessivery ambitious and unattainable goals"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Določanje ciljev je ključen proces v rehabilitacijski medicini, namenjen izboljšanju izida rehabilitacije in avtonomije pacienta. Cilji morajo biti specifični, realni, dosegljivi, ambiciozni in časovno opredeljeni. Rehabilitacijski cilj je načrtovano prihodnje stanje, vsebuje pa tudi zaporedje aktivnosti, ki so potrebne, da ga pacient doseže. V proces določanja ciljev moramo vključiti pacienta in prepoznati njegove potrebe, saj bo le tako motiviran za aktivno sodelovanje in boljši končni izid.
