It represents a typical and successful example of historical fiction, with elements of fiction and fictionalized biographies, recounting the life experiences of protagonists from various countries of Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. Roman Zabukovčeve The Second Landing, objevljen leta 1993, temelji na življenjskih izkušnjah avtoričinega moža Slovenca, pred in po njegovi naselitvi v Avstraliji takoj po drugi svetovni vojni. Predstavlja značilen in uspešen primer zgodovinske proze, z elementi fikcije in romansiranih biografij. Roman opisuje življenjske izkušnje protagonistov iz različnih dežel vzhodne in jugovzhodne Evrope.
