Recurring hypoglycemia in an otherwise healthy person is a typical indicator for this disease. Diagnosis is based on demostrating hyperinsulinemia at the same time as blood sugar values are indicative of hypoglycemia. Afterwards, various imaging techniques are used to try to localize the tumor. Therapy for insulinoma is nearly always by surgical removal. After successful surgery, patients who had benign solitary insulinoma usually have no further problems. This article describes the case of a patient who sought medical help because of symptoms and signs of hypoglycemia. After the presence of hyperinsulinemia had been proven, imaging techniques showed an expansive lesion in the pancreas. The lesion was surgically removed. More than two years after surgery, the patient remains symptom-free"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Insulinom je najpogostejši tumor celic trebušne slinavke z notranjim izločanjem. Pokaže se s ponavljajočimi se hipoglikemijami pri sicer zdravem človeku. Diagnozo postavimo z dokazom povišane ravni insulina ob krvnih sladkorjih v hipoglikemičnem območju. Nato s pomočjo slikovnih metod (ultrazvok trebuha, računalniška tomografija, endoskopski ultrazvok) poskušamo odkriti in določiti mesto tumorja. Zdravljenje bolnikov je praktično zmeraj kirurško. Po uspešni operaciji benignega posamičnega insulinoma so bolniki običajno brez težav. V članku bomo predstavili bolnika, ki je poiskal zdravniško pomoč zaradi znakov in simptomov hipoglikemije. Po dokazu povišane ravni insulina smo s slikovnimi preiskavami našli proces, ki se širi v trebušni slinavki.
