They are mainly found in the Menina and Velika Planina mountains. During the past 40 years thenumber of active leks has fallen from 28 in 1960 to 10 in 1998, predominantly after 1980. In 1998 deserted leks or those with only a single male predominate, a worrisome fact in view of the last known optimal phase of population oscillations. We consider the main factors to be the degradation ofhabitats and the abnormal forest structure with too few old trees. With intensive forest management and frequent felling in predominantly privately owned woods at the Menina Planina mountain, pole stands are represented by 90 %. Of the 20 known leks in the area, 16 are deserted. At the Velika Planina mountain, where most of the forest is state owned, there has been lengthier forest management, the region is more remote and with lesser felling the forest structure is more natural with more than 20 % mature trees and approximately 50 % older pole stands. This and the serenity of the region enable the long term stability of the subpopulation of the 3 known active leks. After a minimum in 1982 the number of males at Velika Planina has now increased, conforming to the long term population oscillation"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Na modelnem območju Kamniško-Savinjskih Alp, v predelu Krajevne enote Kamnik Zavoda za gozdove Slovenije, je znanih 36 rastišč divjega petelina, ki so razvrščena predvsem na območju Menine in Velike planine. Število aktivnih rastišč na tem območju se je v zadnjih štirih desetletjih zmanjšalo z 28 (okoli leta 1960) na 10 (1998), največ po letu 1980. Leta 1998 so prevladovala opuščena rastišča in rastišča s samo enim aktivnim samcem, kar je glede na zadnjo znano optimalno fazo nihanja populacijske gostote zaskrbljujoče. Pomemben razlog za opustitev rastišč pripisujemo razgradnji habitatov oziroma nenaravni starostni strukturi gozdov s premajhnim deležem starih gozdov. Zaradi intenzivnega gospodarjenja in pogostih sečenj v prevladujočih drobnih zasebnih gozdnih posestih na Menini planini prevladujejo drogovnjaki z 90 % deležem. Od 20 znanih rastišč divjega petelina na tem območju jih je opuščenih kar 16. Na Veliki planini, kjer prevladujejo državni gozdovi, je zaradi daljše obhodnje, odmaknjenosti in manj intenzivnega gospodarjenja struktura gozdov naravnejša, z več kot 20 % debeljakov in z okoli 50% starejših drogovnjakov. Našteti dejavniki in mir omogočajo dolgoročno stabilnost subpopulacij na treh tam znanih aktivnih rastiščih divjega petelina. Število aktivnih samcev na rastiščih Velike planine se je v zadnjem obdobju po minimumu okoli leta 1982 povečalo skladno z dolgoletnimi nihanji populacijske gostote"}],"edm:type":"TEXT","dc:type":[{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"znanstveno časopisje"},{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"journals"},{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785"}]},"ore:Aggregation":{"@rdf:about":"http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-SQRI97ZV","edm:aggregatedCHO":{"@rdf:resource":"URN:NBN:SI:doc-SQRI97ZV"},"edm:isShownBy":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-SQRI97ZV/566fb5ff-b70c-4eee-a459-48cfd5d5a0d3/PDF"},"edm:rights":{"@rdf:resource":"http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"},"edm:provider":"Slovenian National E-content Aggregator","edm:intermediateProvider":{"@xml:lang":"en","#text":"National and University Library of Slovenia"},"edm:dataProvider":{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Zveza gozdarskih društev Slovenije"},"edm:object":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-SQRI97ZV/maxi/edm"},"edm:isShownAt":{"@rdf:resource":"http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-SQRI97ZV"}}}}
