Due to the fast changing social and demographic situation in Europe as well as in Slovenia, we are eagerly anticipating the changes in the field of health care and social care that would systematically regulate the broad field of long-term care. After the last legislation on long-term care was published at the end of 2017, the long-standing expectations to regulate the field of long-term care in Slovenia brought another disappointment on the legislator's narrow view of the necessary systematic changes in the system. Zaradi hitro spreminjajočih se družbenih in demografskih sprememb, tako v Evropi kot tudi v Sloveniji, že dolgo željno pričakujemo nujne spremembe na področju zdravstva in socialnega varstva, ki bi sistemsko uredila široko področje dolgotrajne oskrbe. Večletna pričakovanja po ureditvi področja dolgotrajne oskrbe v Republiki Sloveniji, so ob zadnji javni objavi predloga zakona o dolgotrajni oskrbi konec leta 2017, prinesla ponovno razočaranje nad ozkim pogledom zakonodajalca glede prepotrebnih sistemskim sprememb v sistemu.
