The student’s work included lectures on current sustainable mobility options in Ljubljana and its surroundings as well as the promotion of more environmentally friendly forms of transport in Slovenia. Cycling is a promising sustainable commuting option, but a daily commute can vary depending on various factors such as the distance between home and work, the safety of the traffic infrastructure, the weather and personal fitness. A safe and reasonably quick (aka straight) cycling path is a necessity for raising the number of daily commuters using bikes or even e-bikes. The current cycling infrastructure from different approaches to the city does not meet the safety nor speed criteria that would be useful. The students proposed two different plans on how to develop a quick cycling path (cycling highway) from Vrhnika to LjubljanaMed 18. in 22. septembrom je v Ljubljani, na Fakulteti za gradbeništvo in geodezijo Univerze v Ljubljani (UL FGG) potekala mednarodna poletna šola trajnostne mobilnosti. Izvedena je bila v okviru projekta ReMOBIL s sodelovanjem UL FGG in RRA LUR. Namen poletne šole je bil spoznati obstoječe mobilnostne možnosti znotraj LUR in pripraviti predloge za povečanje uporabe trajnostne mobilnosti – predvsem s področja kolesarjenja. Tako mesto Ljubljana kot tudi Regionalna razvojna agencija ugotavljata, da je prebivalcev sosednjih urbanih središč, ki bi dnevno uporabljali kolesarjenje kot način prihoda na delovno mesto, razmeroma malo.
