V nekaterih državah je ta del zdravljenja sprejet kot sestavni del rehabilitacijske obravnave bolnikov s tetraplegijo. Programi rehabilitacije v teh ustanovah potekajo tekoče in v tesnem sodelovanju kirurških in rehabilitacijskih ekip. V članku želimo predstaviti možnosti kirurškega zdravljenja pri bolnikih s tetraplegijo, izbiro in oceno ustreznih kandidatov, pooperativno rehabilitacijo in rezultate v tujini.
