The aim of our research was to determine if training on the Wii balance board in sitting position with the Nintendo system' as a supplement to physiotherapy - influences improvement of balance and mobility in patients with Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Method: Fourteen patients (11 male, 3 female) participated, aged 53 years on average (range 27-66 years). They performed training on the Wii balance board in sitting position with the Nintendo system in addition to physiotherapy every day for 22 minutes per session on average, for two to four weeks. Before, after two and four weeks of training measurements with the Berg Balance Scale, the Functional Reach Test, the 10-meter walk test and the 6-minute walk test were performed. Results: After two weeks of training on Wii balance board in sitting position with the Nintendo system, outcome measurements showed statistically significant improvements: on the Berg Balance Scale for 11.7 points on average (SD 8.3 points), on the functional reach test for 6.9 cm on average (SD 8.1 cm), on the 10-meter walk test for 0.31 m/s (SD 0.19 m/s), and on the 6-minute walk test for 91.4 m on average (SD 68.3 m). After four weeks of training, all the patients were able to walk with a gait aid. Conclusion: Training on the Wii balance board in sitting position with the Nintendo system as a supplement to physiotherapy helps to improve balance and mobility in patients with Guillain-Barré Syndrome during rehabilitation. We recommend it as it is safe, it can be used as biofeedback training and it is also more motivational for patients as a training of repetitive tasks"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Bolniki z Guillain-Barréjevim sindromom imajo okvarjen gibalni sistem s pretežno napredujočo šibkostjo mišic udov in trupa.
