Several researches show that decline in muscle mass and muscle strength with age can be prevented, where nutrition and exercise play an important role. Review of researches shows, that we can have impact on sarcopenia, even after it is already diagnosed. As one of key factors, strength exercise has been shown, mostly from gain of muscle mass and muscle strength point of view. On the other hand, functional exercise has shown an effective intervention for improving physical performance. There is a lack of researches, which research influence of balanced nutrition on sarcopenia, but current researches show, that protein supplementation doesn%t play a key role. On a field of sarcopenia, there is definitely lack of researches, and non-standardized definition of sarcopenia and measurements play a key role. But no matter what, current researches show that sarcopenia can be prevented. And when it gets to sarcopenia, it can be slowed down with proper exercise and balanced nutrition</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Namen prispevka je bil ugotoviti, ali lahko z uravnoteženo prehrano in športno vadbo vplivamo na potek sarkopenije po tem, ko se ta že pojavi. Pregled raziskav kaže, da lahko. Najuspešnejša metoda z vidika pridobivanja mišične mase in mišične moči je vadba za moč. Pozitivne rezultate pa je prinesla tudi funkcijska vadba. Ugotovili smo, da raziskav, ki bi preučevale učinek uravnotežene prehrane na potek sarkopenije, žal primanjkuje. Obstoječe raziskave pa potrjujejo, da dodatek beljakovin v prehrani v procesu sarkopenije ne igra ključne vloge.
