The purpose of this article is to describe physical activities of quality football referees during matchplay from mechanical and physiological aspect. Research findings have shown that during a competitive match referee may cover 9-13 km, of which 4-18% is covered at high intensity. High- to low-intensity activity ratio may be defined as 1:4.3. Regarding match physiological responses, it has been reported that mean match heart rate is between 162 and 165 beats per minute, which totals up to approximately 85% of maximal heart rate. Mean match oxygen uptake (VO2) is about 80% of VO2max. Blood lactate concentration has been reported to be approximately 5 mmol/L; however, concentrations as high as 14 mmol/L have been observed at the end of the second half. Concerning exercise planning we would like to stress the importance of speed endurance training and speed training with a prior development of aerobic fitness, as optimal physical fitness is required for quality football refereeing"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Nogometni sodnik ima pomembno vlogo v nogometu, saj lahko njegova presoja igralnih situacij odločilno vpliva na izid tekme. Namen prispevka je predstaviti obremenitev kakovostnih nogometnih sodnikov med tekmo z mehanskega in fiziološkega vidika. Ugotovitve referenčnih raziskav kažejo, da sodnik med tekmo opravi med 9 in 13 kilometrov poti, od tega 4-18 % razdalje preteče z visoko intenzivnostjo. Razmerje med visoko in nizko intenzivnostjo znaša 1 : 4,3. Kar se tiče fizioloških odzivov na tekmo, je bilo ugotovljeno, da se povprečna frekvenca srčnega utripa med tekmo giba med 162 in 165 utripi na minuto, kar znese za približno 85 % maksimalne srčne frekvence. Privzem kisika (VO2) v povprečju šteje okoli 80 % VO2max, vsebnost laktata v krvi pa približno 5 mmol/l, s tem, da so ob koncu drugega polčasa zabeležili tudi vrednosti, visoke 14 mmol/l.
