Headlines are intended to provide quick information and capture attention, which was important when browsing newspapers and is even more so when skimming online media today. With the development of media, commercialization, and digitalization, headlines’ structure, length, and linguistic choices have changed. The evolution of headlines reflects technological and socio-cultural changes, making them an important indicator of the development of journalism. This article combines an overview of the historical development of headlines, the influence of tabloidization and digitalization, and linguistic research on this phenomenon in Slovenia"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Raziskovanje naslovov v slovenskem poročevalstvu se je začelo v 70. letih z raziskavami Toma Korošca, ki je naslovom pripisal ključno vlogo zaradi njihove vizualne in jezikovne izrazitosti. Naslovi so namenjeni hitremu informiranju in pritegovanju pozornosti, kar je bilo pomembno že ob prelistavanju časopisov, danes pa še bolj ob preletavanju spletnih portalov. Z razvojem medijev, komercializacijo in digitalizacijo se spreminjajo njihova struktura, dolžina in jezikovne izbire.
