Their rheological and mechanical properties must there- fore be improved by pre-processing with an appro- priate particle engineering processes, including ag- glomeration methods. Basic knowledge of the compressibility and compatibility, as two main me- chanical characteristics of particles, is very important for making the right prediction of the tableting process and the final quality of the manufactured tablets. While there are mostly researches that ex- amined the compression properties of individual substances or simple binary mixtures, only a little is known about mechanical properties of real/complex mixtures. Based on the knowledge of the compres- s ion properties of an individual substance, it is diffi- cult to predict the compression properties of the real, especially pre-processed mixture, which is used for the production of tablets on an industrial scale. Studying the compression properties of real complex mixtures by using different compressibility models, such as the Heckel and Walker model, therefore represents a great challenge for scien- tists</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Velik del pomožnih snovi in zdravilnih učinkovin, ki jih uporabljamo v farmacevtski industriji zaradi slabe pretočnosti in slabe stisljivosti ni primeren za di- rektno stiskanje v tablete, zato moramo njihove reo- loške in mehanske lastnosti izboljšati s predhodno obdelavo z ustreznimi postopki načrtovanja lastnosti delcev, kamor sodijo v širšem pomenu tudi postopki aglomeriranja (granuliranja). Poznavanje kompresi- bilnosti in kompaktibilnosti, kot dveh ključnih me- hanskih lastnosti delcev, je izrednega pomena pri napovedovanju in obvladovanju poteka procesa ta- bletiranja in končne kakovosti izdelanih tablet. V li- teraturi so objavljene predvsem raziskave vredno- tenja stisljivost posameznih pomožnih snovi ali enostavnih binarnih zmesi, le malo pa vemo o me- hanskih lastnostih kompleksov oziroma realnih zmesi za tabletiranje. Na podlagi poznavanja stislji- vosti posameznih izhodnih snovi je namreč težko napovedati stisljivost realne, zlasti procesirane zmesi, ki jo uporabljamo za izdelavo tablet na indu- strijski ravni.
