Within this framework the definition of new roles and competences of armed forces in the modern societies is of special importance in the area of defying terrorist threats which also reflects in to dilemmas of civil-military relationship. Efficiency in operating of armed forces in the area of defying terrorism is in some way connected with suitable and effective concepts of democratic control over the armed forces and security sector as a whole. Using the comparative analysis of legal and strategic-defence documents the author demonstrates changes in determination of new role of armed forces in the Republic of Slovenia. V tem okviru je še posebej pomembno opredeljevanje novih nalog in vloge oboroženih sil v sodobnih družbah na področju zoperstavljanja terorističnim grožnjam, ki se med drugim odražajo tudi v dilemah na področju civilno-vojaških razmerij. Učinkovitost delovanja oboroženih sil na področju zoperstavljanja terorizmu je v določeni meri povezana z ustreznostjo in učinkovitostjo konceptov demokratičnega nadzora nad oboroženimi silami ter varnostnim sektorjem v celoti.
