"Obliquity" represents the ways and means to deprive one's opponent of the possibility, even the thought, of confrontation. While it is a process unknown to Ancient Greek, hence Western, military tradition it also explains how Western rhetoric of confrontation of viewpoints and frontal debate is foreign to the Chinese practice of persuasion. Transposed to international relations, obliquity posesa serious challenge as it pitches a philosophy and a practice of persuasive manoeuvring against modes of rhetorical deliberation Western-framed diplomacy deems natural and obvious and, possibly, the only valid ones</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Bogata kitajska tradicija teorije vojaške strategije poudarja pomen izogibanja neposrednemu, frontalnemu napadu. "Neodkritost" je način, kako preprečiti nasprotniku, da bi sploh pomislil na konfrontacijo. Ta proces je bil neznan v antični grški, torej zahodni vojaški tradiciji, hkrati pa pojasnjuje, kako je zahodna retorika konfrontacije stališč in frontalnih napadov tuja kitajski praksi prepričevanja. S prestavitvijo v mednarodne odnose postane neodkritost resen izziv, saj se usmerja na filozofijo in prakso prepričevalnega delovanja v nasprotju z načini retoričnega posvetovanja,ki jih šteje zahodna diplomacija za naravne in razumljive in morda za edino veljavne</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-R6D3YHO5"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-R6D3YHO5" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-R6D3YHO5/abe4a4e5-fa55-4c2d-804b-06862ab2ab36/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Evropski inštitut za komuniciranje in kulturo - EURICOM</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-R6D3YHO5/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-R6D3YHO5" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
