In other cases, in order to recover blighted local economies, administrations and cultural institutions are adopting strategic spatial plans to attract tourists or accommodate historical theme parks. However, recent scholarly interest in the interaction of history and collective memory has highlighted these sites. Even if the memory of some historical sites is fading quickly, this memory is receiving greater attention than in the past inorder to enhance local identity and strengthen the sense of community. This article examines a number of plans and strategies adopted to give shape to the memorial landscape in Alabama, thereby documenting and exploring some key relations between city planning and the commemoration of African-American history</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Čeprav so mnogi stari kraji v ZDA dobro ohranjeni, veliko območij zgodovinske in kulturne vrednosti zaradi opuščanja izginja. V članku je obravnavano več načrtov in načrtovalskih strategij, ki so bili razviti za oblikovanje spomeniške pokrajine v Alabami, dokumentirani in preučeni pa so tudi nekateri ključni odnosi med načrtovanjem mest in obeleževanjem zgodovine Afroameričanov</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-QUX9G3I4"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-QUX9G3I4" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-QUX9G3I4/d73f376b-2de3-40ff-a250-9bfe756f5fa2/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Urbanistični inštitut Republike Slovenije</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-QUX9G3I4/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-QUX9G3I4" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
