Consequently, LLMs have (besides their known and attested commercial value) immense epistemological value for the humanities since they allow for an alterna-tive way of studying language learning, generation, and structure that can supplement classic linguistic techniques. LLMs can thus be used to reassess the relevance of exist-ing linguistic theories and update them as well as to start developing new theories of language. The paper develops its thesis through a refutation of a common objection to LLMs – that they have no “true” understanding of language since they possess no relation to the outside world – and by showing that real-world relations are irrelevant for hu-man language as well. Posledično so lingvistične teorije (kot je strukturalizem), ki so jezik razumele zunaj takšnega okvira, ponovno pomembne za novo razumevanje simbolnega jezika in kulture, ki ga omogočajo VJM</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-QF067318"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-QF067318" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-QF067318/331c4725-9267-4b17-aac2-a246cd32dc6c/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Filozofska fakulteta</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-QF067318/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-QF067318" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
