There are different causes for brain injuries. Adolescent are most often injured in traffic, at sports or in violent attacks. Recovery after brain injury is long-term and uneven. Consequences can last a long time and can prevent integration among peers and in every day activity. After release from rehabilitation institution the recovery is normally not over, but is continued at home and often also in the educational environment. When we assess that adolescent will be able to continue education after rehabilitation, we adjust our rehabilitation goals and course of therapy. Long-term experiences show that longer monitoring and maintenance of contacts among rehabilitation professionals and school workers are crucial for successful continuation of education after traumatic brain injury. In article we present two cases of returning to school after traumatic brain injury"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Najbolj ogrožena starostna skupina za nezgodno možgansko poškodbo so mladi med petnajstim in tridesetim letom starosti. Vzroki za poškodbo so različni. Mladi se najpogosteje poškodujejo kot udeleženci v prometu, pri športu ali pa je nezgodna možganska poškodba posledica nasilja med mladimi. Okrevanje po taki poškodbi je dolgotrajno, poteka neenakomerno, posledice poškodbe pa lahko mladostnika še dolgo spremljajo in ga ovirajo pri vključevanju med vrstnike in pri opravljanju vsakodnevnih aktivnosti. Okrevanje se praviloma ne zaključi z odpustom iz rehabilitacijske ustanove, nadaljuje se v domačem in pogosto tudi šolskem okolju. Pri mladostnikih, pri katerih presodimo, da bodo po zaključeni rehabilitaciji lahko nadaljevali šolanje, temu prilagodimo rehabilitacijske cilje in potek obravnave. Dolgoletne izkušnje so pokazale, da je za uspešno šolanje mladostnikov po nezgodni možganski poškodbi pomembno dolgotrajnejše spremljanje le-teh in vzdrževanje vezi med strokovnjaki zdravstvenih ustanov in šol.
