Janez KrstnikStavbna zgodovina in umetnostna dediščina studeniškega samostana v luči obnove 2022–2025|The article presents the results of interdisciplinary research and restoration work carried out on the southern part of the Studenice convent between 2022 and 2025. Particular attention is devoted to the new iconographic interpretation of the medieval wall paintings in the nuns’ choir, which can be associated with St John the Baptist, as well as to the analysis of the development of the western wing of the convent complex, including the ground-floor and upper arcaded corridors, the columned hall, and the adjoining room to its south. These spaces underwent a major Baroque transformation in the seventeenth century. The eastern façade of the western wing, decorated with ornamental motifs, can be dated to the first half of the eighteenth century, while more extensive alterations to the convent buildings were carried out in the second half of the nineteenth century. Significant archaeological finds document the demolished southern part of the western wing and confirm the existence of a monastic pharmacy and wall paintings in the area of the cloisterPrispevek predstavlja rezultate interdisciplinarnih raziskav ter obnovitvenih posegov na južnem delu samostana Studenice med letoma 2022 in 2025. V ospredju je nova ikonografska opredelitev srednjeveških poslikav v nunski empori, ki jih je mogoče povezati s sv. Janezom Krstnikom, ter analiza razvoja zahodnega trakta, vključno s pritličnim in nadstropnim arkadnim hodnikom, stebriščno dvorano in prostorom južno ob njej. Ti prostori so veliko baročno preobrazbo doživeli v 17. stoletju. V prvo polovico 18. stoletja lahko umestimo vzhodno fasado zahodnega trakta z ornamentalnim okrasjem, večji posegi na samostanskih stavbah pa so bili izvedeni v drugi polovici 19. stoletja.
