The central objective of the paper is to present and evaluate innovative teaching methods that promote active student engagement, improve comprehension, foster the development of critical thinking, and encourage the use of digital tools in the classroom. Within the framework of interdisciplinary integration, various methods were tested, such as online quizzes and digital tools for analyzing historical and economic data. Emphasis was placed on developing digital competencies, specifically data analysis, source utilization, and critical evaluation of information. The effectiveness of the approach was assessed through student observation, with learners providing feedback on their experience and acquired skills. The results show that innovative methods increase students' interest and active participation in the subject matter and enhance their understanding of complex socio-economic processes. Furthermore, they contribute to the development of key competencies that enable students to function effectively in a digital society, critically assess sources, and solve complex problems. This paper is intended for secondary school teachers who wish to incorporate cross-curricular integration and modern teaching approaches into their lessons. The methods presented are transferable to other educational institutions as well"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Prispevek obravnava medpredmetno povezovanje sodobnega gospodarstva in zgodovine v srednješolskem izobraževanju, s ciljem izboljšanja razumevanja preteklih dogodkov in njihovega vpliva na današnje ekonomske razmere. Osrednji namen prispevka je predstaviti in evalvirati inovativne učne metode, ki spodbujajo aktivno sodelovanje dijakov, izboljšujejo razumevanje, razvoj kritičnega mišljenja ter uporabo digitalnih orodij pri pouku. V okviru medpredmetne povezave so bile preizkušene različne metode, kot so spletni kvizi, digitalna orodja za analizo zgodovinskih in ekonomskih podatkov. Poudarek je bil na razvijanju digitalnih kompetenc, zlasti na analizi podatkov, uporabi virov ter kritičnem vrednotenju informacij. Učinkovitost pristopa je bila ocenjena s pomočjo opazovanja dijakov, ki so podali povratne informacije o svoji izkušnji in pridobljenih veščinah. Rezultati kažejo, da inovativne metode ne le povečujejo zanimanje in aktivno sodelovanje dijakov za obravnavano vsebino, temveč tudi izboljšujejo razumevanje kompleksnih družbeno-ekonomskih procesov. Prav tako prispevajo k razvoju ključnih kompetenc, ki dijakom omogočajo uspešno funkcioniranje v digitalni družbi, kritično presojo virov in reševanje kompleksnih problemov.
