For example, with stable isotopes we can determine where the water goes when it rains and identify the flow paths of rainfall to the streams. This paper shows theoretical background of stable isotopes applications in hydrological studies and connection with some of the hydrological processes such as (sub)surface runoff generation. We give a short overview of previous studies (focusing on the last 15 years) that used stable isotopes with an emphasis on studies in Slovenia. In the last part of the paper some preliminary results of an ongoing research project are presented. This project will focus on the hydrological response of the nonhomogeneous Ljubljanica catchment with the aim to enhance the knowledge about hydrological processes using stable isotopes</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Z uporabo stabilnih izotopov kisika in vodika v hidroloških raziskavah lahko odgovorimo na vprašanja, na katera z običajnimi hidrološkimi meritvami veliko težje najdemo odgovor. Sledi opis in preliminarni rezultati meritev in analiz, ki potekajo v okviru raziskav nehomogenega porečja Ljubljanice, v katerih bomo poskušali z uporabo stabilnih izotopov nadgraditi znanje o hidroloških procesih</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-Q5AWQL28"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-Q5AWQL28" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-Q5AWQL28/4d628a43-1b44-4b26-b31c-b899fadf5efc/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za gradbeništvo in geodezijo</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-Q5AWQL28/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-Q5AWQL28" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
