These processes can take place within a field or among different professional areas. One of the preliminary conditions for successful communication based on consistent professional terminology. The author exposes some basic archival professional terms defined in the current Slovenian archival legislation and professional standards. He stresses some semantic problems of implementation of these terms in different fields. In his opinion terminological deficiencies must be coordinated if we want to achieve long-term sustainability and usability of the cultural contents in the electronic environment. Za njihovo uspešno izvajanje mora biti med drugim vzpostavljena dobra komunikacija, ki temelji na usklajeni strokovni terminologiji. V nadaljevanju je predstavljenih nekaj osnovnih arhivskih strokovnih terminov, ki so opredeljeni v slovenski veljavni zakonodaji s področja arhivske dejavnosti oz. v arhivskih strokovnih standardih. Pri tem avtor opozarja predvsem na semantične probleme njihove uporabe na različnih področjih. Zato meni, da bo potrebno terminološke različnosti uskladiti, če hočemo, da bodo zajete kulturne vsebine v elektronskem okolju dolgoročno vzdržne in uporabne skozi čas in prostor.
