We tested children with seven different swimming tests such as tests of the water adjustment skills and tests of the ability to swim breaststroke with the head above the water and breaststroke with normal breathing. 39 children participated in the study. Results showed that the exercises did not follow from easier to harder one. Theoretical order of tests concerning water adjustment skills was consistent with the order that children mastered. Moreover, it was obtained that the breaststroke with the head above the water was easier task then swimming breaststroke with the normal breathing. Only the test for gliding showed unexpected results. Due to this, we suggest that very well gliding performance is not necessary skill to start with learning swimming technique. Therefore, Slovenian task scale for evaluation swimming knowledge should be revised in a way to evaluate gliding ability/knowledge later during the learning process</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Z raziskavo smo želeli ugotoviti, ali se vrstni red testnih nalog, s katerimi smo ocenili znanje in sposobnosti neplavalcev na plavalnem tečaju, dobro ujema z dejansko težavnostjo posameznih nalog. Učence smo testirali s sedmimi testi, ki so vključevali naloge prilagajanja na vodo in plavanja žabe ter prsnega. Vzorec je predstavljalo 39 predšolskih otrok. Uspešnost učencev pri posamezni testni nalogi je pokazala, da si testne naloge niso popolnoma sledile od lažje k težji. Vrstni red testnih nalog, ki so se nanašale na prilagajanje na vodo, se je dobro ujemal z vrstnim redom, ki smo ga pričakovali in po katerem sicer poteka poučevanje. Pričakovano se je "plavanje žabe" izkazalo za lažje od prsnega. Glede na rezultate raziskave lahko zaključimo, da je bil predvidevan vrstni red testnih nalog za ocenjevanje znanja in sposobnosti neplavalcev relativno dobro postavljen glede na dejansko težavnost posameznih nalog. Izjema je le testna naloga drsenja. Izkazala se je za bistveno težjo, kot je bilo predvidevano.
