Dance therapy is very successful for Parkinson's patients and, in other countries, it is used as a tool to improve a number of abilities in patients diagnosed with parkinsonism and some other diseases. Dance therapy improves motor abilities and consequently walking, body posture and the movement of the hands and fingers. Moreover, it reduces depression and anxiety and improves cognitive abilities. Music motivates patients to exercise more intensively and longer and thus feel greater satisfaction. With all of its positive influences, dance therapy improves the quality of lives of Parkinson's patients"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Parkinsonova bolezen je druga najpogostejša nevrodegenerativna bolezen, za katero pri nas trpi več kot 7000 bolnikov. Plesna terapija je uspešna terapija za bolnike s parkinsonovo boleznijo, ki jo drugod po svetu uporabljajo za izboljšanje več sposobnosti tako pri parkinsonizmu kot tudi pri nekaterih drugih boleznih. Plesna terapija izboljšuje motorične sposobnosti, s tem pa hojo, držo telesa in gibanje rok ter prstov. Hkrati zmanjšuje depresivnost in anksioznost ter izboljšuje kognitivne sposobnosti. Glasba bolnike dodatno motivira, da vadijo intenzivneje in dlje, ob tem pa doživljajo večje zadovoljstvo.
