Bimanual training and robot assisted therapy are often used to regain motor functionality of the paretic limb. Methods: The goal of this pilot study was development and validation of a bimanual training system that stimulates the use of both arms of hemiparetic subjects. Adaptive assistance control adjusts the contribution of the unaffected arm, thus reducing the load on the paretic arm. Four chronic hemiparetic subjects participated in the study. They performed three different tracking exercises in bimanual mode and in two unimanual modes to validate the applicability of the system. The movements of the paretic limb must be coordinated with the unaffected limb to complete the bimanual exercise. Results: The bimanual robot training resulted in improvements of motor performance in terms of power ratio of both hands and task performance. The adaptive assistance control enabled the subjects to complete the exercises regardless of the level of their impairment. Conclusions: Adaptive control assisted the subjects in completing the movements while simultaneously stimulating the use of the paretic arm. Correlation between bimanual training and unimanual performance was observed</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Izhodišča: Hemipareza je najbolj pogosta okvara pri ljudeh po možganski kapi. Izvajali so tri različne naloge sledenja z dvoročnim načinom vadbe in z dvema načinoma enoročne vadbe, tako smo hoteli preveriti primernost takega sistema. Za izvedbo vaj morajo biti gibi paretične roke usklajeni z zdravo roko. Rezultati: Spremljali smo razmerje med močjo rok in uspešnostjo izvajanja naloge. Rezultati so pokazali izboljšanje gibalnih sposobnosti. Zaključki: Adaptivna pomoč osebam pomaga dokončati gibe in sočasno spodbuja uporabo paretične roke. Ugotovili smo povezanost med dvoročno vadbo in enoročno izvedbo</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-PESZG6NG"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-PESZG6NG" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-PESZG6NG/4c9d8614-515c-4291-9e50-dfe5877d5e1d/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerzitetni rehabilitacijski inštitut RS – Soča</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-PESZG6NG/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-PESZG6NG" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
