Their design and operation draw heavily from nature, often mimicking the complex motion of living creatures. Due to their soft structure with the capability to change shape, soft robots are able to adapt to unpredictable environments and can safely interact with humans. The newly emerging field of soft robotics is highly multi-disciplinary, combining areas such as material physics, biomedical engineering and intelligent systems</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Mehki roboti so narejeni iz mehkih, elastičnih materialov in omogočajo edinstvene možnosti uporabe na področjih, kjer klasična, neprožna robotika ne pride v poštev, na primer za neinvazivne operacije, protetiko in umetne organe. Pristopi za oblikovanje in delovanje izhajajo iz narave in kompleksnega gibanja živih bitij. Zaradi svoje mehke zgradbe, ki lahko spreminja obliko, se lahko mehki roboti prilagajajo nepredvidljivim okoljem in varno interagirajo z ljudmi.
