It has been observed that the measured reaction time is unexpectedly long in some measurements. In order to confirm our assumption that the reason for this lies in the different knowledge of sprint start technique from the start block, we conducted a study comparing reaction times measured with RTS and force plate (TP) in subjects with different sprint start technique knowledge. Twenty-three subjects participated in the study. Measurements were taken simultaneously using the RTS and the force plate. The division of subjects into two groups was made using a hierarchical method. T-test for dependent samples was used for comparison between RTS and TP, and t-test for independent samples was used to compare differences between groups. The correlation of the variables was calculated using the Pearson correlation coefficient. There were 7 subjects in the group with high rate of force development (VRFD) and 16 subjects in the group with low rate of force development (NRFD). Comparison of reaction time measured by RTS revealed that the VRFD group had a statistically significantly shorter reaction time than the NRFD group (P &lt;0.001). In the VRFD group, the correlation between the reaction time measured by RTS and the reaction time measured by TP was statistically significant (P &lt;0.001), while it was not statistically significant in the NRFD group (P = 0.893). Based on the results of our research, we can conclude that the RTS correctly measures the reaction time in subjects that are able to perform a sprint start from the start blocks well. For those who are not able to perform the sprint start from the starting blocks well, the RTS measures too long reaction time</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Na atletskih tekmovanjih, testiranjih in treningih se za merjenje reakcijskega časa uporablja ReacTime System (RTS). Opazili smo, da je izmerjen reakcijski čas pri nekaterih merjencih nepričakovano dolg. Da bi potrdili našo domnevo, da je razlog za to v različnem znanju izvedbe nizkega štarta iz štartnega bloka, smo izvedli raziskavo, v kateri smo pri merjencih z različnim znanjem izvedbe nizkega štarta primerjali reakcijske čase, izmerjene z RTS in s tenziometrijsko ploščo (TP). V raziskavi je sodelovalo 23 merjencev. Meritve so bile narejene hkrati z uporabo RTS in tenziometrijske plošče. Razdelitev merjencev v dve skupini je bila narejena s hierarhično metodo združevanja. Za primerjavo med RTS in TP je bil uporabljen t-test za vezane vzorce, za primerjavo razlik med skupinama pa t-test za neodvisne vzorce. Povezanost spremenljivk je bila izračunana s Pearsonovim korelacijskim koeficientom. V skupini z visokim prirastkom sile (VRFD) je bilo 7 merjencev, v skupini z nizkim prirastkom sile (NRFD) pa 16 merjencev. Primerjava reakcijskega časa, izmerjenega z RTS, je pokazala, da je skupina VRFD imela statistično značilno krajši reakcijski čas kot skupina NRFD (P &lt; 0,001). V skupini VRFD je bila korelacija med reakcijskim časom, izmerjenim z RTS, in reakcijskim časom, izmerjenim s TP, statistično značilna (P &lt; 0,001), v skupini NRFD pa ne (P = 0,893). Na podlagi rezultatov naše raziskave lahko zaključimo, da RTS pravilno izmeri reakcijski čas pri merjencih, ki znajo dobro izvesti nizki štart iz štartnih blokov.
