They sketched rival visions. Rawls, inspired by Immanuel Kant, argued for a world characterized by tolerance, equality, and justice as fairness. Nozick, claiming a Lockean heritage but actually inspired by Adam Smith (the “invisible hand”) and Herbert Spencer (“survival of the fittest”), outlined a program for a minimal state, with very little taxation, offering no cushion at all against poverty, and providing no state assistance for the poor, the sick, the disabled, or the widowed. Rawls’ vision is clearly part of the liberal tradition, while Nozick’s championing of a minimal state contains illiberal elements</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-OWIRAJ8L"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-OWIRAJ8L" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-OWIRAJ8L/f4388202-1988-486e-8e3e-5c9bbc552f35/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za družbene vede</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-OWIRAJ8L/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-OWIRAJ8L" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
