The emphasis of the present article is on the influence of food on the above-mentioned biopharmaceutical processes. We focused at the presystemic level where food-drug interactions occur frequently due to the direct contact between food and drug delivery systems. Changes in the characteristics of the media in the lumen and changes in transit times along the gastrointestinal tract are described, as well as other influences, such as the impact on active transport and first-pass metabolism. Influences on systemic biopharmaceutical processes can also be very important but are less frequent. Clinically important drug food interactions which frequently appear in all described groups have to be anticipated, and in spreorder to prevent such interactions, appropriate measures should be taken</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Interakcije med hrano in zdravili delimo na farmakodinamske, do katerih prihaja na nivoju mehanizma delovanja zdravilnih učinkovin in farmakokinetične, ki potekajo na nivoju procesov sproščanja, absorpcije, porazdelitve, metabolizma in izločanja. V vseh skupinah interakcij so pogoste klinično pomembne interakcije, ki jih je potrebno vnaprej predvideti in sprejeti ustrezne ukrepe, da jih preprečimo</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-OOIPP5C1"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-OOIPP5C1" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-OOIPP5C1/5758d011-4145-4ef8-a92c-c528bfe0d4db/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Slovensko farmacevtsko društvo</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-OOIPP5C1/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-OOIPP5C1" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
