First the polymer samples were exposed to oxygen plasma and then to the neutral oxygen atoms. The samples were exposed to plasma for different periods ranging from 0.3 to 10 s. Activation of the surface was determined by measurements of contact angles vs. exposure time showed that changes in surface morphology happened very rapidly in less than 1 s. With further exposition of the sample to the oxygen plasma the state of surface activation did not change. We investigated also the dependence of surface energu against the dose of atomic oxygen. We found out that for full surface activation the dose of 4 times 10 sup21 m sup-2 is adequate and this showed that the required exposition time of the polymer in plasma with the atom density of 1 time 10 sup22 m sup-3 is about 0.2 ms"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Preiskovali smo hitrost aktivacije površine poliestrske folije med izpostavo kisikovi plazmi in nevtralnim kisikovim atomom. Vzorci plastike so bili izpostavljeni enkrat kisikovi plazmi, drugič pa nevtralnim kisikovim atomom. Vzorci so bili izpostavljeni različno dolgo časa od 0,3 do 10 s. Aktivnost površine smo določali z merjenjem kota omočljivost kapljice vode s podlago. Meritve kota omočljivosti v odvisnosti od časa izpostave plazmi so pokazale, da se spremembe, do katerih pride na površini vzorca, zgodijo izredno hitro, v manj kot 1 s. Z nadaljnjo izpostavo vzorca kisikovi plazmi se stanje aktivacije ne spreminja. Preiskovali smo tudi odvisnost površinske energije polimera od doze atomarnega kisika.
