The rhythm of the new city structures and communication bypasses eliminates the fatigue of many European city centres, thus creating a quality habitat within them. New, attractive architectural motives increase the fluidity of the urban space, while reanimation of city quarters, as well as redefinition of industrial and military zones energise the cities of Europe while information technology creates the virtual worlds: the media landscape merges with the built environment. The article presents examples in certain European cities</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Razumevanje političnih, socialnih in kulturnih sprememb v evropskem prostoru pomaga razkriti ozadje strategij nastajanja novih mestnih struktur.
