This work examines online discussions around health care in the United States by analysing tweets about Obamacare and then assessing the degrees of polarisation in social media. The results indicate that highly influential entities in social media have an important capacity to polarise the public. Another relevant finding is that ideology is a powerful mechanism to frame online discussions by relegating policy arguments in online debates. Finally, this work shows that social media can easily promote negative sentiments towards "the other", confirming group homogeneity in online communities</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Z razširitvijo internetnih komunikacij je razpravljanje preko spleta posta- la pomembna oblika politične participacije. In nazadnje to delo kaže, da se v družabnih medijih zlahka na eni strani promovirajo negativni sentimenti do "drugega" in na drugi potrjuje homogenost skupine v spletnih skupnosti</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-OC9PORPU"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-OC9PORPU" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-OC9PORPU/12678dd6-b180-4132-b00c-0b687dedaf92/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Fakulteta za družbene vede</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-OC9PORPU/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-OC9PORPU" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
