The aim of our study was to evaluate rehabilitation outcome in these patients. Methods: Fifty patients (14 female, 36 male) with CIN or CIM as a consequence of COVID-19 and respiratory failure, who were admitted to the University Rehabilitation Institute, Republic of Slovenia, were included in the study. Patients’ activities were assessed using the Functional Independence Measure (FIM), 10 Metre Walk Test and 6-Minute Walk Test. Motor FIM gain was used to assess rehabilitation efficacy. Nutritional status was assessed using anthropometric measurements and Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). Assessment was performed at admission and at discharge. Results: Average age at admission was 62 years. At admission, severe impairment of body functions with consequent activity and participation limitations were present in all patients. The duration of rehabilitation was approximately 6 weeks. Clinically important and statistically significant improvements were achieved regarding all observed variables (p < 0.001) At discharge, all patients were independent in activities of daily living. In addition, they were all able to walk, half of them without walking aid. Conclusion: Comprehensive multidisciplinary rehabilitation of patients after COVID-19 and respiratory failure patients was effective in our sample. In a relatively short period of rehabilitation, patients achieved important improvement in their activities"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Uvod: Pri bolnikih z okužbo s covidom-19 lahko pride do hujšega poteka bolezni s pljučnico in dihalno odpovedjo z nevropatijo in/ali miopatijo kritično bolnega. Z raziskavo smo želeli oceniti izid rehabilitacije pri teh bolnikih. Metode: V raziskavo smo vključili 50 bolnikov (14 žensk in 36 moških) z nevropatijo in/ali miopatijo kritično bolnega po okužbi s covidom-19 in posledično dihalno odpovedjo, ki so opravili celostno rehabilitacijo na Univerzitetnem rehabilitacijskem inštitutu Republike Slovenije – Soča (URI Soča). Bolnikove zmožnosti smo ocenili s pomočjo Lestvice funkcijske neodvisnosti (FIM), testa hitrosti hoje na 10 metrov (10MWT) in 6-minutnega testa hoje (6MWT). Za oceno učinkovitosti rehabilitacije smo uporabili izboljšanje motoričnega FIMa. Prehranski status smo ocenili z uporabo antropometričnih meritev in meritvijo telesne sestave (BIA). Ocenjevanje smo opravili ob sprejemu in ob odpustu. Rezultati: Povprečna starost bolnikov ob sprejemu je bila 62 let. Ob sprejemu so bile pri vseh prisotne izrazite okvare telesnih funkcij in posledičnih omejitev dejavnosti in sodelovanja. Rehabilitacija je v povprečju trajala 6 tednov, bolniki so dosegli klinično pomembno in statistično značilno izboljšanje pri vseh opazovanih spremenljivkah (p < 0,001). Ob odpustu so bili vsi bolniki samostojni v osnovnih dnevnih aktivnostih. Vsi so bili sposobni hoje, polovica brez uporabe pripomočka. Zaključek: Multidisciplinarna rehabilitacijska obravnava bolnikov po okužbi s covidom-19 z dihalno odpovedjo se je v našem primeru izkazala za učinkovito.
