In preparation for and during the War of Slovenian Independence, Slovenia's defence forces consisted of the Territorial Defence and the Slovenian Militia. With the support of civil defence and the Slovenian population, and after organized and thorough preparations which began a year before the war, the Territorial Defence and the Militia achieved victory after ten days of war, 72 skirmishes and three ceasefire agreements. All this is dealt with in the case of the city of Maribor, where the armed forces were formed on the basis of the Republic's regulations on the one hand, while taking into account the special characteristics of the broader local community on the other</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Avtor na podlagi preučevanja arhivskih virov in literature obravnava oblikovanje oboroženih sil samostojne in demokratične Slovenije.
