These aremyths on Moslems as Turks , which were created in those parts of Europe, which in the past were for a considerable period of time subject to Ottoman predatory invasions (compare Gingrich 1998). Slovene historiography, fiction and textbooks are a rich source of such myths, representing, apart from media images on the crises at Middle East, as well as terrorist attacks worldwide, the main source of knowledge on Islam and Moslems in Slovenia. This knowledge is rather questionnable, as historic myths sources on Turkish period are coloured by modern nationalistic view, where Others, mainly Turks as Moslems are used to build Slovene national identity and establish Slovene territory. This is a useful political instrument in the Slovene collective psyche, often misused by various nationalistic and islamophobic actors</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Članek opisuje slovensko različico obmejnega orientalizma skozi presojo slovenske intelektualne produkcije, ki združuje zgodovinska dejstva in fikcijo, o obdobju t. i. turških vpadov . Gre za mite o muslimanih kot Turkih , ki so se razvili v tistih predelih Evrope, ki so bili v preteklosti dalj časa podvrženi osmanskim plenilskim vpadom (prim. Gingrich 1998). Živeče v slovenski kolektivni zavesti predstavlja priročno politično orodje, ki ga pogosto izkoriščajo različni nacionalistični in islamofobni akterji</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-N3OQ7501"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-N3OQ7501" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-N3OQ7501/c715fb60-09ff-4255-9e21-6896c51b4862/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Inštitut za narodnostna vprašanja</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-N3OQ7501/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-N3OQ7501" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
