It argues that many such studies are shaped by unreflective Western epistemological assumptions, rooted in historically specific paradigms and power relations. To overcome these limitations, the author advocates for a transcultural methodological framework that problematizes the alleged incommensurability of culturally conditioned worldviews and seeks to transcend the binary oppositions of “East” and “West”. The paper discusses the persistence of Ori-entalist and Eurocentric tendencies in Sinology and the emergence of reverse Orientalism within contemporary Chinese scholarship. It contends that both discourses are bound to unequal global power structures and that a genuine understanding of Confucian philos-ophy requires a dialectical approach that critically reflects on these asymmetries while avoiding the pitfalls of cultural relativism and essentialism. The study concludes that transcultural philosophy offers the most promising framework for reinterpreting Confu-cianism as a dynamic part of global philosophical discourse and as a potential contributor to a more inclusive and humane world</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-N0RF2FF1"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-N0RF2FF1" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-N0RF2FF1/98a87887-acae-4ff5-9a95-486f333eec9c/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Univerza v Ljubljani, Filozofska fakulteta</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-N0RF2FF1/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-N0RF2FF1" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
