In the manuscript are presented various dietary reference values, what they mean, how they are used and who should use them. The labelling of minerals and vitamins on foods and tolerable upper intake levels for vitamins and minerals are also presented. In addition, risk assessment of using products with high daily doses of vitamin D and vitamin C are described. The needs for minerals and vitamins vary from person to person and from day to day. Recommendations (according to DACH recommendations) or population reference intakes (according to EFSA recommendations) by definition cover the needs of almost all (97.5%) persons within the group of healthy individuals. For an individual, only the intake that covers the needs for a particular vitamin or mineral is recommended. With a daily intake of a balanced and varied diet, it is unlikely that the supply would be too low</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Evropska agencija za varnost hrane (EFSA) in Nacionalni Inštitut za javno zdravje (NIJZ v skladu z DACH smernicami) podajata številne prehranske referenčne vrednosti (vrednosti DRV; angl. dietary reference values) za vnos mineralov in vitaminov. Priporočila (vrednosti DACH) oz. populacijski referenčni vnosi (vrednosti EFSA) po svoji definiciji pokrivajo potrebe skoraj vseh (97,5 %) oseb znotraj skupine zdravih posameznikov. Nacionalni inštitut za javno zdravje priporoča za posameznika le tisti vnos, s katerim pokrije potrebe po določenem vitaminu ali mineralu. Ob vsakodnevnem vnosu uravnotežene in raznovrstne prehrane je malo verjetno, da bi bila preskrbljenost premajhna</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-MV6Q2RV0"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-MV6Q2RV0" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-MV6Q2RV0/7cc21359-9af1-4644-a8d9-5b5707cdc96a/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Slovensko farmacevtsko društvo</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-MV6Q2RV0/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-MV6Q2RV0" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
