The main purpose of the article is to determine whether the constitutional framework established by the Treaty of Lisbon provides a suitable basis for a successful green transition in the field of energy or in relation to it. For the purposes of answering this research question, a green transition related to energy is tentatively defined. This is followed by a discussion of the current constitutional regulation of sustain-able development with an emphasis on the environmental integration clause. Next, the article includes a discussion of the fields of environmental protection, energy and the internal market, and of their constitutional shortcomings. Also, the article includes a discussion of the relationship between public policies that are established in the aforementioned fields, in order to provide a basis for a credible conclusion about the interaction between the individual fundamental aims of these policies, which are important for the green transition. This is a precondition for a credible conclusion about the suitability of the applicable supranational constitutional framework. Based on the analysis of the aforementioned research problems, the author comes to the conclusion that the current constitutional framework is not suitable for a successful green transition regarding energy, and he proposes appropriate changesV prispevku je obravnavan zeleni prehod v zvezi z energijo. Namen prispevka ugotoviti, ali ustavni okvir, določen z Lizbonsko pogodbo, zagotavlja primerno podlago za uspešen zeleni prehod na področju energije oziroma v zvezi z njo. Za potrebe odgovora na to raziskovalno vprašanje je okvirno opredeljen zeleni prehod v zvezi z energijo, sledi obravnava veljavne ustavnopravne ureditve trajnostnega razvoja s poudarkom na okoljski integracijski klavzuli, nato pa so obravnavana še področja energije, varstva okolja in notranjega trga ter razmerij med javnimi politikami, ki so vzpostavljene na teh področjih, da bi se tako zagotovila podlaga za verodostojen sklep o tem, kakšna je interakcija med posameznimi temeljnimi cilji teh politik, ki so pomembne za zeleni prehod, in se nato opravil še verodostojen sklep o primernosti veljavnega naddržavnega ustavnega okvira.
