Its meaning is neither stable nor static, but depends upon contexts, the socio-political circumstances of any given historical moment as well as in- and extra-discursive elements. The article seeks to show the historical change and adaptability of the concept of sovereignty and questions its claim to be absolute. It focuses on the relationship between the concept of the state and sovereignty. It refutes the transhistorical understanding of the concept and argues for a conceptual novelty called sovereignism"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Suverenost je eden izmed osrednjih politoloških konceptov, ki vpliva na razumevanje cele vrste drugih političnih konceptov. Ni niti statičen niti stabilen koncept, temveč je odvisen od okoliščin, družbeno-političnih idej vsakokratnega zgodovinskega dogodka ter notranje in zunanje diskurzivnih dejavnikov. S pomočjo primerov iz zgodovine političnih idej in dekonstrukcijske metode članek pokaže na zgodovinsko spremenljivost in prilagodljivost koncepta suverenosti ter na njegovo vprašljivo zahtevo po absolutnosti. Posebej se osredotoča na razmerje med suverenostjo in državo ter izpostavi porajajoča se teoretska in realnopolitična vprašanja.
