In this paper, based on empirical data from 17 out of 26 members of the University of Ljubljana, we find that compulsory physical education is being replaced by optional physical education. This means that while investing effort and money of individual faculties in the implementation of physical education have not changed much, the positive consequences of physical education (more exercise and a healthier lifestyle of young people) have decreased. This assertion is mainly based on our finding that students' participation in physical education is rapidly declining. Our findings are of course not encouraging since the lack of physical activity has a number of negative consequences for students"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Slovenske fakultete so se organiziranja športne vzgoje po bolonjski prenovi lotile zelo različno. V prispevku, ki temelji na empiričnih podatkih iz 17 od skupaj 26 članic ljubljanske univerze, ugotavljamo, da je športne vzgoje kot obvezne vsebine vse manj, medtem ko se krepi športna vzgoja kot neobvezna vsebina. Iz tega izhaja, da se vlaganje truda in denarja posameznih članic v izvajanje športne vzgoje ni bistveno spremenilo, medtem ko so pozitivne posledice te športne vzgoje (več gibanja in bolj zdrav življenjski slog mladih) stalno manjše. Da je temu res tako, kaže predvsem hitro padajoča udeležba študentov pri športni vzgoji.
