Some damaging appearances have been already investigated. The present article describes the causes and kinds of iron diffusion into periclase and chromate aggregates which compose the magnesia-chrome refractory and formation of magnesium ferrite. Inversely, magnesium wustite is formed during iron diffusion out of periclase aggregates. Reactions depend on temperature, quantitz of iron and partial oxygen pressure in kiln. Magnesium ferrite and wustite formation influence the refractory brick porosity and consecutively its strength and mechanical resistance"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Kromitno magnezitna gradiva propadajo na mestu gradnje zaradi različnih vzrokov, ki so jim tam izopistavljena. Nekateri pojavi propadanja so bili že raziskani. V predstavljenem delu so opisani vzroki in načini difuzije železovega iona v agregate periklaza in kromita, iz katerih je sestavljena kromitno magnezitno gradivo, ter nastanek magnezijevega ferita oz. magnezijevega wustita pri obrnjeni smeri difuzije železovih ionov iz periklaznega agregata. Reakcije so odvisne od temperature, količine železovih ionov in od atmosfere v peči. Dokazali smo jih z optično in elektronsko mikroskopijo.
