Its pronunciation is based on classical Latin. Lexis is derived by a system of transforming Latin and Latinised words into Eulalia. Also borrowed from Latin is the word stress, which depends on the penultimate syllable, and there is a distinction between long and short vowels. Morphology, with the exception of the pronominal declension, is fairly simple but distinctive, while syntax and word-formation are again almost entirely based on Latin. Kot osnovo za izgovarjavo je izbral klasično latinsko izgovarjavo. Besedje je določil s sistemom pretvorb latinskega in polatinjenega besedja v evlalijo. Obdržal je tudi latinsko pravilo o naglasu ter razločeval med dolgimi in kratkimi samoglasniki. Oblikoslovje evlalije razen zaimenske sklanjatve je dokaj enostavno, vendar visoko razločevalno, skladnja in besedotvorje pa se skoraj v celoti naslanjata na latinščino.
