Electrically driven compresor chillers are the most commonly used devices, but in the last decade the use of absorption chillers has increased rapidly. These types of chillers can use different kinds of energy sources for their operation. In this paper, different kinds of chillers are presented. As an alternative solution for meeting the cooling demands of the buildings and improving the cogeneration efficiency, absorption chillers are introduced. A method for exergetic efficiency determination for different kinds of chillers is described. The possibilities of introducing absorption or electrically driven compressor chillers at the Faculty of mechanical engineering in Ljubljana are analysed</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Za hlajenje objektov se uporabljajo različni hladilni sistemi. Najbolj pogosta je uporaba električno gnanih kompresorskih hladilnikov, v zadnjem času pa pridobiva vse večjo veljavo tudi uporaba absorpcijskih hladilnikov. Ti hladilniki omogočajo uporabo različnih vrst energij. V prispevku so predstavljene različne vrste hladilnih naprav. Kot alternativna rešitev hlajenja v objektih in izboljšanja izkoristka kogeneracijskih sistemov v poletnem obdobju so obravnavani absorpcijski hladilniki v sistemih daljinskega hlajenja. Prikazan je postopek določitve eksergetske učinkovitosti posamezne vrste hladilnikov.
