The established criteria of the maximal premissible plastic deformation of the raceway, and the maximal allowed subsurface stress on the hardened layer boundary give widely varying values for the carrying capacity of the rolling contacts. On the models of bearing raceways from 42CrMo4 and C45 steels we have determined the cyclic curves (force - deformation), the limit of fast increase in (elastic and plastic) deformation gradient, and the size of the contact surface. The sub surface stresses were simultaneously checked using a FEM model and considering the material nonlinearities"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Nosilnost velikih aksialnih ležajev s površinsko utrjeno tečino je navadno določena z največjo dopustno stično silo na najbolj obremenjenem kontaktnem elementu. Kriterij za dopustno plastično deformacijo tečine in dopustno površinsko napetost na meji kaljene plasti dajeta za dovoljeno nosilnost kotalnega stika različne vrednosti. Pri modelih ležajnih tečin smo določili za jekli C45 in 42CrMo4 ciklične krivulje (sila-raztezek), mejo, pri kateri začne naraščati gradient deformacije (elasstično-plastična) in velikost stičnepovršine. Kontrola podpovršinskih napetosti je bila izvedena z uporabo identičnega modela MKE istočasno z eksperimentom.
