This fact led us to design a study comparing the origins of borrowed geography terms and analysing the preference for adopting subject-specific vocabulary in geography instruction. The linguistic findings suggest that Latin has contributed more to geography terminology than Greek, both in the case of physical and sociogeographical terminology. Despite some reservations, teachers and students favour introducing and using borrowed terminology"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Terminologija kot prevzeto strokovno izrazoslovje pri pouku lahko predstavlja oviro za učitelja oziroma breme za učenca, saj zaradi svoje abstraktnosti in kompleksnosti pogosto zahteva poglobljeno razumevanje. Prav to dejstvo nas je vodilo tudi v snovanje raziskave, katere cilj je bil primerjati izvor prevzetih geografskih terminov ter analizirati naklonjenost za uporabo prevzetega strokovnega geografskega izrazoslovja pri pouku geografije. Ugotovitve, vezane na jezikovni del raziskave, nakazujejo, da je h geografski terminologiji več prispeval latinski kot grški jezik, tako v primeru fizično- kot tudi družbenogeografske terminologije.
