Two types of symptoms were observed in infected trees; AP specific (changes in size and number of leaf stipules and witches-broom formation) and non-specific symptoms (changes in leaf size, shape and colour, formation of rosettes and stunting of shoots). The percentage of infected trees that expressed one or more AP-specific symptoms was 18.9-75.5 % in one-year old trees, 39,4-87 % in two-year, and 44,8-89,7 % in three-year old trees.
