These properties have been determined systematically for the first time for eleven different types of stone found naturally in Slovenia. Measurements were maid of their thermal conductivities,coefficients of linear thermal expansion, moduli of elasticity and Poisson's ratios. It was found that the most important factors affecting the measured thermal and elastic characteristics of the investigated types of stone are mineral composition and texture. In general, limestones, when assessed by known quality criteria for natural stone, have better thermal and elastic properties than those of stone obtained from silicate rocks or rocks having a relataively non-homogeneous texture due to porosity and the presence of micro-cracks (tuffs, sandstone, breccia). The results obtained provide a good basis for the optimization of the design and installation of the investigated types of stone"},{"@xml:lang":"sl","#text":"Pri uporabi naravnega kamna v gradbeništvu , še zlasti pri projektiranju fasadnih oblog, so izjemno pomembni podatki o njegovih toplotnih in elastičnih lastnostih, ki so bile pri enajstih izbranih vrstah slovenskega naravnega kamna določene prvič. Izmerili smo toplotno prevodnost, linearni toplotni razteznostni koeficient, module elastičnosti in Poissonovo število. Ugotovili smo, da sta najpomembnejša dejavnika, ki določata vrednost toplotnih in elastičnih parametrov preiskanih vrst naravnega kamna, mineralna sestava in tekstura. V splošnem imajo apnenci, če jih vrednotimo s kakovostnimi merili za naravni kamen,boljše toplotne in elastične lastnosti v primerjavi s silikatnimi ali tistimi kamninami, ki imajo izraženo nehomogeno teksturo zaradi poroznosti in mikrorazpokanosti (lehnjak, peščenjak, breča).
