The article presents the research on brick-FRP shear joint. The intention of research was to find configurations with higher capacity of joint (in terms of load bearing and/or deformation). Loading of FRP stripes was performed in the parallel direction of the FRP-masonry surface (direct shear). Tests of FRP-brick samples were in general divided into two parts: strengthening of bricks with carbon FRP-s in epoxy glue (CFRP) and with glass meshes in cement mortar (GFRM). The most important factor of high load bearing capacity was adequately prepared surface before placing the strengthening layer (CFRP or GFRM) that should not be too smooth. The differences achieved in strength and energy absorption are big. An important contribution to increased load capacity and energy absorption is also anchored endings of the strips. The rounding of the strips ends or the shape of swallowtail both successfully prevent the possibility of collapse with peeling of the stripe. They also activate a greater volume of brick, which they must rip from the brick, thus requiring more energy for the delamination. Higher strength was achieved also with higher amount of FRP reinforcement, though the strength is not proportional to the amount of glued FRP-s</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Problem delaminacije utrditev iz polimerov, armiranih z vlakni, z opečnih zidov, je eden glavnih vzrokov za predčasen padec strižne nosilnosti utrjenih zidov, obremenjenih s potresno obremenitvijo. V članku so predstavljene strižne preiskave stikov opeke in armiranih polimerov, s katerimi smo želeli razviti stik z večjo nosilnostjo. Opravljali smo preiskave z vnosom strižne obremenitve na stik vzporedno s stično ploskvijo. Preiskave preizkušancev opeke s FRP-utrditvami so bile v grobem razdeljene na dva dela: obloge s karbonskimi vlakni v epoksidnem lepilu (CFRP) ter obloge s steklenimi mrežicami v cementni malti (GFRM). V prvi vrsti smo ugotovili, da je najpomembnejše pred lepljenjem zagotoviti primerno podlago, predvsem podlaga ne sme biti pregladka. Dosežene razlike v nosilnosti in porabi energije do odtrganja so zelo velike, pomembno pa k povečanju nosilnosti in porabi energije prispevajo tudi izboljšani načini sidranja koncev trakov. Bodisi zaokrožitev konca trakov bodisi lastovičji rep uspešno prepreči možnost porušitve z odlepitvijo, aktivira pa tudi večji volumen opeke, ki jo morajo iztrgati iz opečne mase, za kar pa potrebujejo veliko več energije.
