Results obtained by this method are comparable with the conventional method of covariance matrix. Although the proposed method is numerically less efficient, it offers one important advantage: measurement errors may be arbitrarily distributed and mutually dependent random variables, whereas in conventional methods they are assumed to be indenpendent normally distributed random variablesObravnavana je analiza natančnosti določitve koordinat točk v ravninski geodetski mreži, ko so opazovanja simulirana in nato izravnana z metodo Monte Carlo. Na tak način dobljeni rezultati so primerljivi z rezultati iz kovariančne matrike. Čeprav je opisana metoda računsko mnogo zahtevnejša, nudi očitno prednost: pogreški opazovanj so lahko poljubno porazdeljene in medsebojno odvisne slučajne spremenljivke.
