The use of regulated herbal medicinal products ensures quality, safety and efficacy due to strict control protocols in EU, but this does not apply to food supplements. The use of unregulated and illegally distributed herbal products, which became easy accessible by rapidly developing internet services, can be a serious threat to health. There is also a problem of patients' attitude toward medicinal herbs. Since herbal medicines are of natural origin, patients are convinced, they are safe and without any adverse effects; therefore they frequently don't follow recommended dosage and duration of the treatment. Great popularity of medicinal herbs also stimulates the patients to collect plants from the natural environment which can damage fragile ecosystems. On the other hand frequent lack of adequate botanical knowledge results in confusion with toxic plants, sometimes with fatal consequences. In the era of modern information society, being under pressure of advertising, patients must be adequately informed to ensure they use herbal medicinal products of high quality, safety and efficacy. In this process a professional advice from a pharmacist is extremely important</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Priljubljenost in uporaba zdravilnih rastlin v svetu strmo narašča in temu sledi tudi Evropska unija (EU). V sodobni informacijski družbi z velikim pritiskom oglaševanja izdelkov je za kakovostno, varno in učinkovito uporabo zdravil rastlinskega izvora nujna ustrezna informiranost pacientov, pri kateri igra strokovno svetovanje farmacevtov izredno pomembno vlogo</dc:description><edm:type>TEXT</edm:type><dc:type xml:lang="sl">znanstveno časopisje</dc:type><dc:type xml:lang="en">journals</dc:type><dc:type rdf:resource="http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q361785" /></edm:ProvidedCHO><ore:Aggregation rdf:about="http://www.dlib.si/?URN=URN:NBN:SI:doc-LCXNLGER"><edm:aggregatedCHO rdf:resource="URN:NBN:SI:doc-LCXNLGER" /><edm:isShownBy rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/stream/URN:NBN:SI:doc-LCXNLGER/4d0ed70c-0e9b-418c-81e6-e6ad0fc56448/PDF" /><edm:rights rdf:resource="http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/" /><edm:provider>Slovenian National E-content Aggregator</edm:provider><edm:intermediateProvider xml:lang="en">National and University Library of Slovenia</edm:intermediateProvider><edm:dataProvider xml:lang="sl">Slovensko farmacevtsko društvo</edm:dataProvider><edm:object rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/streamdb/URN:NBN:SI:doc-LCXNLGER/maxi/edm" /><edm:isShownAt rdf:resource="http://www.dlib.si/details/URN:NBN:SI:doc-LCXNLGER" /></ore:Aggregation></rdf:RDF>
