Sixteen moderately active individuals (9 men, 7 women) participated, performing EQI contractions in knee extensors and flexors. The study focused on contraction duration, torque impulse, angular velocity, and range of motion, alongside peak torque changes pre- and post-EQI protocol to assess fatigue. Results indicated gender-specific differences in EQI contraction characteristics and fatigue responses. Men showed shorter EKI contraction times, and a more significant reduction in peak torque during maximal voluntary contraction, suggesting higher fatigue levels during and post-EQI training. This study is the first to explore EQI characteristics in knee flexors, highlighting the need for further research, especially considering the limited range of motion used. These findings have important implications for designing gender-specific resistance training programs and highlights further need to research the EQI paradigm</dc:description><dc:description xml:lang="sl">Namen študije je bil primerjati biomehanske značilnosti ter učinke utrujanja ekscentričnih kvaziizometričnih (EKI) kontrakcij iztegovalk in upogibalk kolena med moškimi in ženskami. Sodelovalo je 16 zmerno aktivnih posameznikov (9 moških in 7 žensk). Študija se je osredotočila na trajanje kontrakcije, impulz navora, kotno hitrost in obseg gibanja, skupaj s spremembami največjega navora pred vadbenim protokolom za oceno utrujenosti in po njem. Rezultati so pokazali razlike med spoloma v značilnostih EKI in odzivih na utrujenost. Moški so izkazovali krajše trajanje kontrakcij EKI ter izrazitejše zmanjšanje največjega navora med hoteno kontrakcijo po vadbi EKI, kar kaže na višje stopnje utrujenosti med kontrakcijami EKI in po njih. To je prva raziskava o značilnostih EKI pri upogibalkah kolena, zato se kaže potreba po nadaljnjih raziskavah, zlasti zaradi omejenega obsega izvajanega giba.
